I came across Mia months ago and just fell in love with her delivery. Her rare mix of warmth and professionalism inspired me to find a way to use her for a client film. The perfect job came up, and the client shared my enthusiasm! The process was smooth, fun, and the results simply perfect. Love working with Mia, and will make sure it happens again...
— Robert Grieves, BERT Animation
Mia provided a clear timeline on when she would complete our time-sensitive projects. Knowing we had tight guidelines on length requirements, Mia practiced the scripts ahead of recording time and flagged the ones that were hard to fit in without rushing through so we could tweak scripts right away instead of scrambling at the last minute. It really helped that she thought to do that early - greatly appreciate working with someone who goes the extra mile!
— Andrea DSouza, IXL
It was great working with Mia! Being able to do a live read through of our script was extremely helpful as we were able to give some quick direction and hear the results in real time. Mia was very thorough, took direction very well and ensured we were happy with the final product.
— Deanna McArthur, TELUS
Excellent work Mia! My sound mixer was extremely complimentary of your recording job. And needless to say the quality of the work was fantastic.

From Screen to Studio, with Heart

I sometimes feel my whole life has been training for voiceover—even when I didn’t know it yet.
I was nine when I began my professional acting career, starring in films like A Room With A View, working with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and appearing in the BBC’s Side by Side. Performance was my world for well over a decade.

Then came radio. Working at a production company in my early twenties, I got my first taste of voice direction and audio editing—and I loved it. It planted the seed for what was to come.

But in 2000, I felt a pull toward something deeper: I trained as a midwife. For the next 20 years, across the UK and Canada, I practiced in hospitals, supported families, taught workshops, and became a media spokesperson for my professional association.

Throughout it all, my voice was my most important tool: calm, clear, adaptable. I learned how to speak to parents in crisis, teach students with confidence, and present complex medical info to a room full of healthcare practitioners. And at home, my two kids honed my storytelling chops with every bedtime book. They’re my toughest (and most honest) audience. So, when I finally stepped away from midwifery after years of being on-call, voiceover felt like the most obvious place to land.

It was like coming home.
